Zoe Mthiyane is a South African actress and media personality with over 15 years in the industry. She’s appeared on several flicks, but her most memorable happens to be Generations: The legacy – perhaps because she was fired from her role in the flick. Some folk had claimed she was fired because she was drunk on set and could no longer remember her lines, but she dismissed this.
She rues that people most times focus on her private life and not what she has accomplished in the years she’s been acting.

Zoe Mthiyane was born into a polygamous family. Her father, Elias Mthiyane, reportedly married five wives, with Zoe Mthiyane’s mother, Clara Nthalane, a beauty queen, as the youngest. Mama Zoe had six children – four sons and two daughters. Zoe credits her mother with restoring her confidence when she was bullied at school for being tall.
Recalling her childhood, the celebrated actress would say that their house was the only one with electricity in their area of Mabhuyeni, Empangeni, in KwaZulu-Natal. As a result, she was sent to boarding school at a very young age and cultivated a habit of reading.
Currently raising a small family of her own, Zoe Mthiyane is no fan of polygamy. She wouldn’t be anybody’s second or third wife, for that matter. She describes herself as a jealous person and would love to be exclusive and vice versa.
