National Health Laboratory Service has terminated the messenger organization that lost a payload of Covid-19 examples in travel on the N2 in the Eastern Cape has been terminated.
In an announcement by NHLS, the activity of the messenger organization and their staff was because of careless, and a hazard to human life.
NHLS CEO Dr Kamy Chetty said pathology organization ended the administrations of Gibela Trade and Invest with prompt impact.
Declaring the sacking, Chetty stated: “The loss of the examples adds up to an infringement of the patient’s privileges to assurance of their clinical records, security and classification and the privilege to respect. It conceivably puts the lives of those patients and their families in danger just as those individuals from the open that may have come into contact with any positive examples.”
On Monday, it was accounted for that a jogger found several test packs on the N2, after which the messenger organization recommended that the examples were lost after the bakkie’s canvas spread opened without the driver acknowledging it.
The sacking comes after Health Minister Zweli Mkhize freely required the organization’s suspension.
“The tests lying out and about was disillusioning, it is by all accounts the messenger organization, we’ve requested that these administrations be suspended. We can’t have this sort of carelessness. We are appreciative to the individuals who spotted and revealed this issue,” Mkhize said.
