17-year-old youngster has been captured following the assault of a 12-year-old Grade 7 student in Bulwer, KwaZulu-Natal.
The student was supposedly assaulted while in transit to class after she returned home to bring her face veil.
As per police, the young lady was supposedly assaulted by the adolescent while at Mahohoho territory in Donnybrook on Monday.
“A 17-year-old suspect was captured at the beginning of today for assault by Donnybrook SAPS,” police representative Thembeka Mbhele said.
An assault case has been opened at Donnybrook SAPS and will be moved to Port Shepstone’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses Investigations unit.
Prior on Tuesday, as indicated by the common Department of Education, the student from Mnyamana Primary School in Bulwer, in the Harry Gwala region, showed up at school without her cover and was turned around at the screening point.
The young person will show up at the Ixopo Magistrate’s Court soon.
