The ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise will finally open on June 25. As with all the films, we’re most excited to see the cars in action. Dennis McCarthy, the picture-car coordinator for the franchise, who has been involved since The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, gave us an early look at some of the cars featured in the film. He makes decisions about the majority of the cars that make it into the movies; director Justin Lin approves; and his shop in Burbank, California, builds most of them. In Fast 9, we’ll see everything from a mid-engine Hellcat-powered Dodge Charger to a giant Mercedes-Benz Unimog-based truck. The team scours sites such as Craigslist and eBay to supply classic cars such as the Chargers, and manufacturers will lend them cars such as a Noble M600 or Toyota Supra. These are some of the cars you’ll see when the film is out this summer.
