Previous top of the KwaZulu-Natal branch of agribusiness and rustic turn of events, Dr Siphiwe Felix Mkhize, has been captured by the Hawks for defilement.
Mkhize and a specialist co-op, Erick Zondi, were captured and showed up in the Durban officer’s court on charges of debasement on Thursday
It was asserted that Ikhwezi Protection Services, spoke to by Zondi bought an engine vehicle to the estimation of R541,800 from Kempster Ford Durban for Mkhize from November 2016 – January 2017.
“Mkhize was at the time the HOD of KZN agribusiness and country improvement. He was answerable for the augmentation and month-to-month installments for the said specialist co-op at the hour of the acquisition of the engine vehicle,” Hawks representative Capt Simphiwe Mhlongo said.
Mkhize who had been involved in a R5m extortion in 2018 surrendered after he was suspended from the division.
The blamed quickly showed up in Durban officer’s court today and were discharged on bail. They are normal back in court on July 28.
